Year 1 Banham Zoo Photos

Year 1 had a fantastic time at Banham Zoo. Luckily the weather was very kind to us. This week, the children have written some fantastic recounts of the trip and made superb posters about Carnivores, Herbivores and Omnivores.

I’d like to say a massive thank you to the parents, our student Miss Baker and our class governor who gave up their time to accompany us on our trip. Without their help, educational visits would not be possible. Apologies to those parents who offered to help but were unable to come due to numbers. Unfortunately, we can’t take everyone and it’s on a first come, first served basis.

Year 1 ‘Once upon a time’

This term started with a trip to the theatre to see Jack and the Beanstalk. We have been looking at Fairy Tales in English and Castles in History and Art. More to follow soon.

Year 1 RE: What makes a good friend?

We read the book ‘Say Hello’ by Jack & Michael Foreman and from it decided what qualities a good friend has. The children demonstrated these through a play session. A couple of scenarios show the opposite of being a good friend. Can you spot them?

Year 1 PSHE: The Picnic

The children have been learning about the importance of reducing and recycling rubbish. They examined all the waste from Year 1’s lunch on a particular day and are currently investigating what is biodegradable.
